BIOLOGY and COMMUNITY HEALTH
Biology and Community Health is the introductory course for our Biotechnology Forensic Biology Pathway. This yearlong introductory course explores life and living things. This class emphasizes the process of critical thinking and scientific investigation of the Next Generation Science Standards to accomplish this as well as Career Technical Standards to get students started in their pathway. Students will be expected to learn to apply concepts to real world situations. Students will be conducting labs and completing projects in order to apply what they have learned. Many "tests" are more of a performance task than a standardized, multiple choice exam. Students will need to think critically and problem solve to show their understanding of the material.
There will be 7 Units covered this year (this order may change with minimal notice).
Q1: Scientific & Engineering Practices, Macromolecules, Photosynthesis/Cellular Respiration
Q2: Cell Division, Genetics
