UNIT 2: CH 2:
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and EVIDENCE COLLECTION
As a crime scene investigator, you will develop the skills needed to enable you to recognize, document, collect, and organize the evidence at a crime scene. You will learn the procedures to collect trace evidence and why it is so important to preserve both direct and indirect evidence. You will learn how and why investigators secure the crime scene; separating witnesses, taking photos, making sketches and factuals (and the difference between the two), as well as how to search, secure, and properly package (bag) evidence.
